The GuidingHand plugin lets anyone on your team work from ChatGPT: make an invite link, see who’s connected, start a task, answer its questions and stop it. Tasks run exactly as they do from the console, with your agents, guardrails and balance.

Connect it

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins and add GuidingHand. To add it by address instead, use https://guidinghand.ai/mcp.
  2. Sign in to GuidingHand when ChatGPT asks, pick your team and click Allow.
Then ask in plain words, for example: “Make a GuidingHand invite for ticket 4411”, then “Connect the printer on that session and print a test page”.

What it can do

The person at the computer still sees every step and can stop the task, as always.

What ChatGPT can and can’t see

  • ChatGPT acts as you, in the team you picked, with your role. It works only with sessions and tasks: it can’t change agents, keys, webhooks, members or billing.
  • It gets the text of a task’s steps, questions and result. It never gets screenshots or recordings; each task’s live_view_url opens them in the console.
  • Sessions it makes are marked source: chatgpt in their metadata, and what it does is in the audit log under your name.

Disconnect

Disconnect in ChatGPT, or have an admin remove it in Settings → API keys → Connected apps. Either one, or leaving the team, ends its access at once. Access tokens last an hour and refresh tokens 30 days.
Building your own MCP client? The server is at https://guidinghand.ai/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE; the metadata is at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. For now only ChatGPT can sign in; for anything else, use an API key.
